Vlahovic Group organized a working breakfast with the Croatian Public Health Institute (HZJZ), focusing on the role of HZJZ in legislative procedures both at a national and EU levels. The event gathered five experts from HZJZ, including Director of the Institute Krunoslav Capak and Head of Public Health Department Ranko Stevanovic, as well as representatives of various companies, coming from different sectors, whose operations are impacted by Croatian and EU health authorities. The central aims of the event were to deepen communication channels between the private sector and state institutions, as well as to highlight some of the key activities of HZJZ.
The participants had a chance to get a deeper understanding of how HZJZ operates, while HZJZ representatives were given a chance to hear directly from leaders in various industries. One of the topics discussed was the interconnection between EU legislation and Croatia’s obligations to transpose regulations into its national legislative framework. Also discussed was a recent study commissioned by one of Croatia’s members of the European Parliament, which examined the dual standard in food quality.
