Vlahovic Group, in cooperation with the Croatian Employers’ Association (HUP), organised a working policy breakfast that focused on EU funding and environmental protection. The event gathered representatives of the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Energy (MZOE), the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund (EPEEF), among other stakeholders.
In an atmosphere of open and constructive dialogue, participants discussed some of the main issues of EU funding related to projects aimed at improving environmental protection in Croatia. The most debated topic was that of municipal waste management systems, as well as issues related to capacities of cities and local governments to operate these systems effectively. Also discussed was the need for better cooperation between businesses and the Government in this area, and measures needed to improve EU funds absorption in this field and in general.
The event was held as part of Vlahovic Group’s ongoing policy breakfast series, which aims to gather representatives of the private sector and state bodies and discuss policy ideas.
