Vlahovic Group and the Croatia EU Business Council, in partnership with the Croatian Employers’ Association (HUP), organised a working breakfast which focused on the new Gas Market Act and its significance for the gas market in Croatia. The event gathered market regulators, and representatives of various gas companies, both private and state-owned.
Some of the key conclusions included the importance of the European Commission (EC) in formulating and developing energy policies, especially regarding the gas market. All of the participants agreed that the EC is the main generator of legislative amendments in its member states, including Croatia. The Brussels administration can play a crucial role when it comes to the realization of strategic projects such as the floating LNG Terminal on Krk Island. The participants also stressed the value and importance of the Croatian administration’s active role in advocating Croatian strategic interests in Brussels, which is of utmost importance for the future of the gas market in Croatia.
